Have a Passion in Life

It is very important to have a passion in life..

Ma, Why are you like this?

Of every creation of this world and the heaven
You are the best
Our limits, biases and foibles so naked
Why are you not like the rest?
Ma, Why are you like this?

I look at my pictures of the yore
Real uncouth, dirty, so messed
But always heard you saying
“You are so cute, the smartest”
Did you lie or your eyes hid the flaws
Ma, why are you like this?

You always had millions of those stories
Each sounded so real, coming from you
Never doubted fairies, ghosts, vampires didn’t exist
All came alive in tales of yours
Ma, why are you like this?

Vividly remember dishes you cooked
Taste buds still yearn for them
Brothers and sister eating and laughing
You would watch and just smile
When did YOU eat, Ma?
Ma, why are you like this?

Best memories from days I would be sick
Medicine by my side, special dish, the hot tea
As if pampering was so less
As if it was your fault that I was sick
Your unbounded love unleashed
Ma, why are you like this?

Your love, giving, your care,
Your words, the balm,
Your touch just divine, looks forgiving
To the day, when I fall or get hurt
Words stumble out “Oh, Ma!!”
Ma, why are you like this?

If God grants me a wish of my choosing
Yet again anything from this life
So I can take it with me,
I would pick you, Ma, to be my mother
In all my lives, every birth and the next
Now, tell me, Ma, why are you like this?
